Creating magical tablescapes is when we are in our element, so to have Dubarry enlist our expertise for their Autumn Winter 21 campaign was a dream.
From the onset we knew that with the team, location and brief, it was set to be an exciting project and we were delighted to be a part of it. Once mood boards started being compiled and shared around, the Dubarry tea party began to come to life.
We knew that we wanted to emulate whimsy, elegance and romance, whilst encapsulating Dubarry’s timeless spirit. With a clean white linen base and pretty embroidered cotton, we started to build...
If you’ve followed us for a while now, you’ll know how much we love layering, so placemats were a must! We fell in love with these natural rattan ones from high street retailer, Anthropologie. For a more delicate look, shop The Victoria placemats from our latest collection: handwoven by artisans in Colombia, these are the seasons most sought after accessory and, we think, here to stay!
Burleigh Pottery was a natural fit with their iconic Asiatic Pheasant patterned plates and blue Felicity tea set. Established in 1851, Burleigh remain faithful to the time-honoured techniques that earned their ceramics a worldwide reputation with each piece being made by hand.
Upon discovering Amuse la Bouche’s signature circus striped ruffle napkins on Instagram we couldn't envision the table without them! We tied dusty pink velvet ribbons around these sweetie inspired napkins for an extra special and playful touch. Amuse la Bouche is a small independent brand that produces limited drops in collaboration with artisan suppliers, both abroad and in the UK. What's more, we love their design ethos which revolves around high quality products that last beyond seasonal trends and can be loved for years to come!
Our blush pink Sabre cutlery, also available for rental, paired perfectly with our chosen plate settings and napkin details.
Working with the amazing Issy Watts of Wizz & Wild was such a joy; after inspiring one another with our love for nature, tones, textures and colours, Issy conjured up bunches of blooms in greens, pale pinks, peaches and white. We meandered these delicate stems along the table in cut glass bud vases and stone urns, designed by Issy.
The wonderful Wizz & Wild pride themselves on their core values and we love them for it! Founded upon the ethos of the Slow Flower movement and inspired by the seasons, Wizz & Wild bring marvellous floral creations to you in a little pink Figaro! Issy’s passion for sustainability and supporting English flower farmers shines through in her work; we love trawling through Wizz & Wild’s Instagram.
Nestled amongst the flowers are a plethora of glass candlesticks, some of which we have sourced from vintage markets and others we’ve turned to the fabulous Issy Granger for! Here we used Issy Granger’s Esna and Horus glass candlesticks for extra height which we have paired with tall pink and ivory tapered candles.
Our genuine, and unrivalled, love for Issy’s designs made deciding our first tableware collaboration very easy! The process that followed was incredibly special and resulted in two exquisite designs which were inspired by our shared appreciation for antique artisanship that culminated in elegant yet modern designs: The Dolly and The Dotty.
In order to really encapsulate the whimsy, we wanted an abundance of beautiful yet purposeful items to showcase the delicious tea party treats!
The gorgeous ceramic pedestal wave bowl that we filled with raspberry meringues, is handmade by Joanna Ling in her London-based garden studio (which we just can’t get enough of!). We fell in love with Joanna’s ceramics after discovering her at the end of last year and styled multiple porcelain pinch pots for our Cabbages & Roses Christmas tablescape. In a world of mass production, Joanna feels it important to cherish the singular which is why every piece she creates is unique.
Soft pinks and greens are echoed through the table design with our pretty pinch pots. Handmade by Rebecca Wordsworth, these delicate ceramics, detailed with gold lustre, make the perfect salt & pepper cellars or favours that can then be placed throughout the home, either decoratively or for special trinkets!
Our recycled glass cake stand is a staple item used for hosting and served to showcase this red velvet cake which we elevated with cut figs and Wizz & Wild's pretty petals. This is a simple yet effective way to create a real showstopper even if you aren’t a star baker!
A few antiques, such as our silver tea pot and vintage wine glasses helped to complete the look but we hope also show you how pre-loved pieces can be used and appreciated in your table designs!
Those invited to tea included a fluffle of bunnies and a very cheeky Shetland named Teddy.
With thanks to Dubarry of Ireland, Christopher Fenner, CFH London, Lucknam Park & Spa and Wizz & Wild.
